Daddy's Day

For Father's Day I wanted to get Stuart something that he could use to spend time and make memories with Leighton.  Finding ways they can hang out when she is so little is important.  Stuart has started biking and he loves it.  During July, I will be teaching summer school so he will be with Leighton all day.  Since he was going to have to give up biking I thought that instead we could get a bike trailer so Leighton could come along for the ride.  It won't be the off roading Stu is used to, but I know they are going to have a blast together.  I love that they will be able to enjoy a hobby together.  Now I just have to get my bike from college tuned up and we can make it a family adventure.  Stu can save the off roading and jumping for his solo bike rides.  Cautious mommy will be riding on paved roads only!  Here are Leighton and Daddy bonding in new ways.

P.S. Happy Father's Day Stuart...you are an AMAZING dad to Leighton.  It has been a joy to watch you learn and grow with me in this adventure of parenthood.  Leighton loves you so much, she lights up every time she sees you.  She honestly is never happier than when she is with you.  It is so stinkin' sweet!

May

flew by in a flash!  Now that June is here we will have time to slow down our pace and enjoy our sweet girl.  For  the summer we will no longer be living for our few hours with her each night and our weekends together.  We will get everyday, all day with Leighton!  Stuart is currently working his last summer camp out of town.  Thank goodness, his girls miss him when he is gone.  I will be honest, at first I was so hesitant about all of his travels and taking care of Leighton alone.  But somehow you just do it.  We love our girl time but not as much as when the three of us are together.  Stuart brings so much into our family.  He is the laughter, the fun, the adventure, the silliness, the love.  He pushes us to be better and to be stronger.  He always encourages Leighton and I know that has a lot to do with how much she can do so early.  I am the concerned, cautious parent who would have probably not encouraged her to take so many risks and be the independent Lil Lady she is.  As much as Stuart and I love the same things and have the same values/views in life, we are different in many ways too.  I love that about us and how we balance each other out.  Leighton will be a well balanced person because of it.  So hopefully in the coming months I will have more pictures and more time to post them!  Here is the first set of our summer adventures.
